On the north side of Hot Springs, South Dakota, is a small mom and pop diner that feels like a step back in time. The Dew Drop Inn Cafe offers tasty made-to-order food at a fair price and dog friendly outdoor seating.
Several picnic tables greeted us when we pulled up to this small town burger joint. It immediately had an old-school vibe that we really liked. Instead of having to go inside the restaurant we were able to use their convenient order window outside.
It took us a minute to decide what to order -everything sounded good. I was looking forward to a bag of homemade french fries and got a grilled hot dog for the girls to split.
After placing our order we made ourselves comfortable at one of the many picnic tables. We noticed they also had a limited amount of indoor seating as well. A steady stream of people came and went. The dogs liked watching the traffic and taking in all the smells of this roadside diner.
We only waited a few minutes before our food was ready. It was freshly made, hot, and delicious. We basked in the small-town charm of this delightful place as we enjoyed our snack.
The Dew Drop Inn is a great place to stop for a yummy bite to eat after a day of fun in Hot Springs. It's conveniently located near Chautauqua Park, Cold Brook Lake, and the northern end of the Fall River Freedom Trail.
This quaint, family friendly restaurant serves up real hand-crafted food at a reasonable price. It was easy to see why this small eatery has become a beloved staple of Hot Springs. We would gladly stop there again.
